Movies

So over the Thanksgiving break I saw a good many movies, all of which I am going to give you my opinion of right now.

1) Four Christmases-funny, a little over the top but i think it was intended to be that way, it was figuratively realistic in its portrail of families at christmas but not literally, I liked it but it is not a movie I really want to see again.

2) Sweeney Todd-I origionally saw it in theatres so this was the second time I saw it. It's a dark musical and if you can get past the gor I think it is a good movie. It is put together well and the music is appropriate and actually catchy sometimes. There are even hints of humor in a few parts. Also, there is a surprise ending which I love.

3) Casablanca- I have been meaning to watch this movie for forever and just now got around to it. I absolutely loved it! It had a great story line that kept me guessing what was going to happen between the main characters. It is a very realistic love story and shows that sometimes loving each other just isnt enough. As well, there were very difficult sacrifices that had to be made for the greater good, rather than just the well-being of two people. I believe one of the quotes was...and please dont completely quote me on this, i probably have a few words wrong, "The little problems of two people don't amount to a hill of beans in this world." This was a realistic story that speaks to real people. There is not a traditional fairy tale ending, but an ending that emmulates the sacrifices we often have to make in life.

4) Harry Potter and the Gobblet of Fire-I am super excited to be finally all caught up on my Harry Potter! I loved this movie more than I thought I would. It was exciting and funny and touched into my emotions all at the same time. The end was very suspenseful and sad. I would love to watch it again.

5) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix-I loved this movie as well. The new professor is completely infuriating and I loved it at the end when she was taken away. You learn even more about Harry Potter as he learns more about his parents. Harry really struggles in this movie and it made me feel extremely bad for his character. Harry has gone through such hardship and it seems he never gets a break. But in the end Harry realizes that any forces of evil will never have the love from friends that he has, and that is worth fighting for. There is a war brewing and the movie ends leaving you wondering what will come next.

6)Twilight-I saw it for a second time and I just wasnt as into it this time. The first time I saw it I absolutely loved it. I think Twilight is such an all-encompasing love story that I have to be in a certain mood to fully appreciate it and I just wasn't in that mood this time. But I still love this movie and I am excited for the next ones to be made.
