So i can honestly say my 18th birthday has been the best birthday I have had in quite a while. I got sung to a total of three times; one at Hoss's with Meredith and Chelsea, one in chorus, and one in Mrs. Browel's classroom, thanks to Claire's mom. Claire got me a freaking awesome picture and frame. The frame was painted blue and around the outside of the picture were little drawn pictures of our friends saying things. They were numbered and it was like a game, I would guess who it was and then look on the back where Claire had the answers to see if I was right. It was pretty rad. Also, Julie got me a card, Junior Mints (love them!), and a Twilight pin. My parentals got me a gift certificate for a 1/2 hour massage which I am pretty pumped for. I also got cards and money from both of my grandparents. Mom and dad took me out to eat at TGI Fridays and it was delicious. I ate lots of motzarella things mmmm.
I got my Christmas shopping done! yay! :)

Movies
| So over the Thanksgiving break I saw a good many movies, all of which I am going to give you my opinion of right now. 1) Four Christmases-funny, a little over the top but i think it was intended to be that way, it was figuratively realistic in its portrail of families at christmas but not literally, I liked it but it is not a movie I really want to see again. 2) Sweeney Todd-I origionally saw it in theatres so this was the second time I saw it. It's a dark musical and if you can get past the gor I think it is a good movie. It is put together well and the music is appropriate and actually catchy sometimes. There are even hints of humor in a few parts. Also, there is a surprise ending which I love. 3) Casablanca- I have been meaning to watch this movie for forever and just now got around to it. I absolutely loved it! It had a great story line that kept me guessing what was going to happen between the main characters. It is a very realistic love story and shows that sometimes loving each other just isnt enough. As well, there were very difficult sacrifices that had to be made for the greater good, rather than just the well-being of two people. I believe one of the quotes was...and please dont completely quote me on this, i probably have a few words wrong, "The little problems of two people don't amount to a hill of beans in this world." This was a realistic story that speaks to real people. There is not a traditional fairy tale ending, but an ending that emmulates the sacrifices we often have to make in life. 4) Harry Potter and the Gobblet of Fire-I am super excited to be finally all caught up on my Harry Potter! I loved this movie more than I thought I would. It was exciting and funny and touched into my emotions all at the same time. The end was very suspenseful and sad. I would love to watch it again. 5) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix-I loved this movie as well. The new professor is completely infuriating and I loved it at the end when she was taken away. You learn even more about Harry Potter as he learns more about his parents. Harry really struggles in this movie and it made me feel extremely bad for his character. Harry has gone through such hardship and it seems he never gets a break. But in the end Harry realizes that any forces of evil will never have the love from friends that he has, and that is worth fighting for. There is a war brewing and the movie ends leaving you wondering what will come next. 6)Twilight-I saw it for a second time and I just wasnt as into it this time. The first time I saw it I absolutely loved it. I think Twilight is such an all-encompasing love story that I have to be in a certain mood to fully appreciate it and I just wasn't in that mood this time. But I still love this movie and I am excited for the next ones to be made. |
One of those days.
Did you ever have one of those days where something was bothering you and it just so happens that everyone keeps saying things that make you think of that thing without them even realizing they are doing it. And it then makes you want to scream...

Thought maybe that would help me feel better.
If anyone has a happy or funny or enlightening story or quote or something leave it as a comment and make me happy. :)

Complain.
| Negative: Today was just one of those blah days that no one likes. I did pretty much nothing and didn't even enjoy it. I'm suffering from something that i am going to name after tons of fun depression. This occurs when you have just had an absolutely amazing time doing somethign or going somewhere for a certain period of time and once that thing is over you are left feeling empty and like there is nothing to look forward to. That is how I am today. It is unpleasant but unavoidable. Today is one of those days that brings up everythign in your mind that you have been trying to forget that you are worrying about. I was also talking to someone today about when you have had say the most amazing week of your life, you know eventually something really bad is going to happen. Like if things have been that great you know somethign bad is going to come along and slap itself in the situation to counteract things. Positive: Days like these are inevitable, but they dont last forever. Tommorow is a new day and if even the next few days dont go too well then next week is a new week. When it comes down to it, I have to trust that things that happen to me that are out of my control do happen for a reason. All I can do, and all any of us can do, is do our best in every situation that is thrown at us and then trust that if we put things back in God's hands everything is going to be okay. That trust is what keeps me going on during the darkest of days. |
SassyBack Tour = best time everrr!!

Today I had college and didnt get to eat the delicious turkey dinner at school. bummer.
Claire has a pie tin, she is taunting me with the pumpkin pie that I didn't get to eat and she did. She is also a doctor that is sterile and she might become a domanatrix.

Today
Today i was happy when Mandie finally brought me my sneakers that i lent to her. I can now stop bringing my "scrubby" (scruffy and grubby) work shoes for gym class.
I am currently excited about seeing Twilight tommorow night! Freaking Right!
And then....Sassy Back Tour on Friday with Claire, Katie, Brenna, and Julie! Woot Woot!
My current thought: Do I want a Mac for college next year?
